SAP GIVES MILD REFUTATION TO NETSUITE

Zach NelsonDuring his company's earnings Webcast this month, NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson went after the market status of SAP's Business By Design (as he often does).  I held off the publishing these comments until I could get an SAP response. In answer to an analyst's question, Nelson commented, "It's being seen a lot in SAP shops and divisions of SAP shops. ... I don't really believe it's in production. ... While they may be showing it, I don't think they are selling a lot of it. ... I think we’ll see it in actual production next year."
SAP describes the product's status as follows: "SAP has achieved success with SAP Business By Design, as evidenced by customers mentioned in our latest earnings release and the activity with partners in the on-demand space, such as Vision33. SAP clearly communicated a step-by-step approach to volume to ensure that all components were ready for distribution. This included a volume-capable architecture which we achieved with feature pack 2.5 launched in August, a robust and active ecosystem that continues to expand, and customer and partner feedback that is continually incorporated into the solution."
