INTACCT’S ACCOUNTANT PROGRAM: LOTS OF BPOS
Intacct has a busy accountant program which provides outsourced accounting services via the company’s online software. But while the company has pointed to the advantages of partnering with accounting firms, quite of a few of its outsourcers aren’t accounting firms. Right now, about 40 percent of the total are business process outsourcers. There’s some fairly recognizable names among them, including Citi Groups’ Citi PES - Financial & Accounting Outsourcing and Outsource Partners International.
That should shift towards the public accounting firms as recruitment continues, says Taylor Macdonald, who recently joined Intacct to build its channels, including the reselling and outsourcing bases. “We have a lot of people who aren’t accountants, but who end up doing accounting for other entities,” Macdonald notes. Macdonald predicted the percentage of CPA firms will probably increase as Intacct’s relationship with CPA2Biz brings in more firms using the product for their own practices.
