BLYTHECO PICKS UP SAGE APPS

Steve BlytheBlythecoDev, the development arm of top Sage reselling frim Blytheco, is now selling the former Sage Extended Solutions under the name bly|Apps, a group of nearly 800 applications no longer marketed by Sage. Blytheco plans to upgrade the top 170 applications to Sage Version 4.4 for MAS 90 and 200 within 12 months. "There's a good market out there and a demand from our customers for those products," says CEO Steve Blythe.

He said that with the conversion effort the goal is "to get as many as out of the can in the next four to six months. We are getting a lot of demand from users and resellers."  When Sage discontinued the line early this year, 24 products were incorporated into MAS 90 and MAS 200 in updates to versions 4.4 and 4.5. Danny Baker, Blytheco’s development VP, said his company had hired three or four Sage employees involved in the products. About as many more remain to be hired. Blytheco will maintain Sage’s catalog price. Steve Blytheco said that about 500 of the applications were basically custom pieces for users.
