The hairball label comes from NetSuite's picturing the installed financial software at many companies as a hairball that must be untangled. This year's Suitey categories are Most Improved Productivity & Cost Reduction; Best Enterprise Deployment; Best Ecommerce Company Solution; Best Manufacturing Company Solution; Best Wholesale Distribution Solution; Best Services Company Solution; Best Software Company Solution; and Best Non-Profit Company Solution. I can imagine one of last year's winners saying to a colleague: "I just got a Hairball." "Yeah, can you spit it up?"

Some might mourn the renaming of NetSuite's Hairball Awards. But I doubt it. Anyway, the awards that have been given at NetSuite's conference have been renamed the Suitey Awards.
