EPICOR RETOOLING RETAIL OPS

Paul Salsgiver, EpicorEpicor Software is reorganizing its retail software unit, a process that is expected to be completed by June. What that means was not spelled out in a recent filing with the SEC. The only other statement in the filing was that  Paul Salsgiver EVP for the Retail Software unit "will no longer meet the requirements for executive officer as defined by the SEC."

Salsgiver was one of the execs who came to Epicor via its merger with Activant Solutions. At one point at Activant, he was EVP and GM of hardlines and lumber before that company reorganized its units. Epicor's retail revenue was $82.6 million for the quarter ended March 31 up from $50.6 million a year earlier. Since Activant is reported as the predecessor company, the big jump in retail revenue reflects the addition of Epicor income from the same category. Retail had improved its profitability with an operating margin of 33.6 percent for the most recently ended quarter up from 32.3 percent. This may be one of those reorganizations which is important internally but not overly so to the outside world.
