CONVERGENCE EUROPE DOWN ONE SITE

Microsoft is entering the second year of its multi-site site approach to holding its Convergence conference in Europe. But this year, the company went for three sites, London, Prague and the Hague, instead of four sites last year. In 2009, it was London, Vienna, Frankfurt and Rotterdam. A spokesperson said this year's sites are expected to sell out and the venues are larger.

The change in cities is because the Germans wanted a German-language show and Convergence is in English. Those crazy Germans. Can you imagine people wanting a show in their country in their own language? The London event is October 14. The Prague confab is set for October 18 and 19 and the Hague get together is October 20 and 21, except the only thing on the 20th is an evening reception. The largely one-day approach isn't much different from last year's schedule. Among the interesting stats from the conference brochure is the breakdown of products used by 2009 attendees: Dynamics, AX, 34 percent; NAV, 27 percent; CRM, 24 percent; Not Specified, 11 percent; GP, 3 percent; and SL 3 percent. The products represented by attending resellers followed the same order without any glaring differences. Maybe one of those answers could turn into a new marketing tool, Microsoft Dynamics NS (Not Specified). "Just mark you want to buy Dynamics NS. We’ll figure it out for you later."
