NETSUITE SIGNS SAGE VAR ACCORDANT

Robert Sandelands, AccordantAccordant, which was a Top Five Sage reseller for 2010 and 2011, has become the latest major Sage VAR to enlist to carry NetSuite. NetSuite also signed Louisville, Ky.-based Oasis Computer Solutions. Oasis has a more wide-ranging product line and handles Dynamics GP and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions, along with Sage 100.

It is Accordant, which has specialized in Sage's construction software that is one of the biggest catches since NetSuite, which markets cloud-based financial software, in May signed Blytheco. Accordant, based in Whippany, N.J., handles Sage 100 Contractor (Master Builder) and Sage 300 Trade Specialty (Timberline Enterprise.) Under managing partner Robert Sandelands, Accordant has $7.25 million in annual revenue, which placed it No. 44 on Bob Scott's Top 100 VARs for 2012.  "We wanted something that is not competitive to Sage," said Sandelands, who added that when it comes to cloud computing "I wish Sage had something." Accordant wants to reach fields allied to the construction business, such as the distributors who serve suppliers. He also noted that small, aggressively growing companies go to the cloud because they don't want to build infrastructure. The business also had "some talent that was going to leave if we didn’t get next generation technology," Sandelands examined Intacct, but said that company's problem is it follows a best-of-breed approach. "Clients want one vendor to do it all," he said. NetSuite is going to be busy recruiting at next week's Sage Summit conference in Nashville, nothing new for NetSuite which shows up at most competitor reseller conferences. Word is emerging that Sage has been working very hard to be more channel friendly. And it got praise for that effort this week from Arxis Technology principal, David Cieslak. Another reseller said that the summer Business Partner Advisory Council meeting was "a love fest" but added "I think we'll have to see what they announce at Summit and what the overall tone is."
