SAP OPENS MOBILE DEVELOPER PROGRAM

David Brutman, SAPSAP is making a major push to spur the development of mobile applications under a program that was introduced last month. We are talking primarily on the high end, but still the new program is one in which SAP talks about working with small, as well as large developers, in the rapidly moving mobile field.

"In the past, it [the developer program]  was geared to larger companies and larger partners," said David Brutman, SAP's senior director of developer relations. At the heart of the program is a new team that was created just over a month ago. "It’s a new team focused on enabling and engaging developers," said Brutman. He also noted that SAP is working to remove barriers to working with the company with steps such as providing free development licenses. They can sign up to download the SDK and create an instance on Amazon Web Services. Those developers that want to create packaged applications can sell them via the SAP store under a revenue sharing program.
