EPICOR ERP REVS RISE ON SOLARSOFT

Epicor logoEpicor's ERP revenue rose by 21 percent for the second quarter ended March 31 on the impact of revenue from its purchase of SolarSoft. But even backing out that factor, ERP sales and license revenue rose, with ERP sales up about 7 percent without SolarSoft. The loss for the recently ended period was $12.8 million, up 35.1 percent from $9.5 million in last year's corresponding period.
Overall, the company's loss for the most recently ended period was $12.8 million, up 35.1 percent from $9.5 million in last year's corresponding period. Company revenue for the second quarter was $238.6 million, a rise of 16.7 percent from $204.4 million a year earlier. Debt incurred by the acquisition of Epicor by Apax Partners and its simultaneous merger with Activant continued to have an impact. The company paid $22.9 million in interest expense, roughly the same as in the second quarter of 2012, but that's still a lot of money to pay out. The increase in red ink came from a general rise in costs and expenses, but notable was an almost 20-percent increase in depreciation and amortization interest. And toss in $2.4 million in acquisition-related costs, almost four times more than a year ago, and restructuring costs of $16.4 million, about 2.8 times similar costs in last year's second quarter. One thing that was different with this quarter's report is that there is no press release or information or information about the earnings call on the Epicor website although there is still a link marked "SEC Filings" that gets you to the 10-Q.
