COLUMBUS BUYS OUT NORWAY INVESTORS Featured

columbus logoColumbus, the Dynamics reseller based in Copenhagen, Denmark, has purchased the interest of minority shareholders in Columbus Norway. The parent now owns 100 percent of the subsidiary. Terms were not disclosed and the company did not disclose the size of the holdings of those investors. Columbus said the deal would not impact revenue and earnings for 2013. By itself, this brief statement is not that significant.

But it looks like the company is doing some reshaping. In August, the VAR said it was in negotiations to buy a consulting firm with about 50 consultants, whose name was not revealed. Later that month, there was an even shorter press release issued stating that there was no deal and no further negotiations. Your might remember that in late 2011, Columbus purchased the former First Tech Direct, a Dynamics reseller based in the Detroit area, so it's interesting to speculate whether the company might make another foray into this country. The reason this is interesting is that Columbus seemed to promote its operations as a software developer of products such as Columbus Food, Retail and Manufacturing over its reselling business and the emphasis appears to have shifted.
