IBM PICKS UP IBIS PRODUCT Featured

Andy Vabulas, I.B.I.S.IBM is distributing a Dynamics AX-based distribution package that has been marketed by I.B.I.S., an Atlanta-area based Microsoft reseller. IBM is the product on the road as Accelerated Distributor. I.B.I.S. owner Andy Vabulas pointed to the agreement as fitting Microsoft's goal of partnering to fill vertical market holes served by the financial software. In July 2013, Vabulas' company was named a global independent software vendor of Advanced Distribution Software. The VAR's development work included additions in revenue management, order management, inventory and procurement.

The product's origin goes back to a group of Dynamics resellers who banded together as Advanced Distribution Partners to market a product from a French company called TVH Consulting, but the relationship with the French didn't work out and Vabulas went ahead on his own. During an interview at this week's Convergence conference, Doug Kennedy, VP of enterprise partners and sales, said Microsoft is adding eight to 10 ISVs a year to the program with most of the product areas identified. "We are pretty clear on a majority of the holes that we are going to have," Kennedy said.
