NETSUITE HITS SAGE IN U.K. Featured

Stephen Kelly, SageNever shy at pummeling an opponent, NetSuite this week welcomed Sage chief executive Stephen Kelly in his first week on the job in its own way. It placed an advertisement in the Metro and the Financial Times London that contained a faux map of the London Underground with the headline "All Sage Lines Terminate Here". Instead of having a destination name, each train route was given the name of a Sage product—50, 100, 200, 1000—with all routes converging on NetSuite.

Beneath the cloud company's name was the sentence "Has Your Business Come To The End Of The Line With Sage?" It's interesting that many vendors do not go after competitors so openly, but NetSuite is happy to have coverage about its attacks. The ad accompanies a press release in which NetSuite talks about what it says are hundreds of Sage customers that have switched to NetSuite and is using the map as the cover photo on its Facebook page. The map was also used in a post on the page and it drew 10 likes and one comment that "Companies should focus on customers rather than competitors." Knowing NetSuite, I don't think we're going to see attack ads go away.
