NET@WORK BUYS FOREPOINT

Alex SolomonNew York-based Sage reseller Net@Work made itself more truly a national VAR yesterday with the acquisition of Forepoint, which is headquartered in Seattle, Wash. Forepoint also has offices in Wisconsin and Portland, Ore., and its president, Kevin Cumley, works from a remote office in Montana. However, Alex Solomon, co-owner of Net@Work, says Forepoint also has customers in Hawaii, California, Alaska, along with other western states.

While Net@Work, just named as one of Sage's top five resellers, has bought several MAS resellers in the last two years, Solomon says it was time for his firm to focus more on Accpac, the company's historic line. The combined organizations have about 140 employees. Forepoint partners Cumley and John Foster assume business development roles and Sonia Gray will serve as manager of professional services. As it did in the acquisition of Solution Strategists and the Fitzgerald Group, Net@Work did not buy Forepoint’s Deltek Practice. Solomon says the Forepoint owners are continuing to sell that.
