JEEVES KILLS SWEDISH CHANNEL Featured

Daniel Gröhlin, Jeeves Information SystemsJeeves Information Systems is abandoning its channel in Sweden. The company announced this week it will not renew any agreements with companies that sell, service and support its ERP product in Sweden. That came after its annual channel partner analysis. I might be reading too much into this, but I'm not surprised. The parent company's CEO is Austin, Texas-based Jeff Tognoni, who took his position after Battery Ventures acquired Jeeves

Tognoni was CEO of Battery-owned company, Made2Manage (which was then the former Consona) when that business dropped its channel in the United States. All Swedish partner agreements expire by 2016. Daniel Gröhlin, general manager of the Swedish subsidiary, said Jeeves continues to rely on its channel outside Sweden. The company has a small channel here, including QBC of Amherst, N.Y., which picked up the Jeeves line in 2010; CompuTec Integrated Solutions, in Hartland, Wis., which handles Jeeves Manufacturing, along with Ibis Distribution; and the ERP Pro of Fort Myers, Fla.; not a very big for almost five years in the U.S. My surmise is that some people philosophically are not fond of channels.
