XERO, INTUIT ALLY WITH SHOPIFY Featured

ShopifyIt was a good week for Shopify, which provides ecommerce sites for online business and POS apps for on-premise sales. Both Intuit, which also reported integration with Bigcommerce, and Xero announced integration with the capabilities of Canada-based cloud company. Obviously, Shopify provides the same functionality in enabling sales and associated data to be available to Xero and QuickBooks Online. Xero said the integration is expected to go live this year.

The Shopify page for Intuit says much the same thing and that merchants will be able to sign up for a 30-day free trial. QuickBooks Payments is already available to Shopify and Bigcommerce merchants. QBO integration with both Shopify and Bigcommerce "will be available in the coming months," an Intuit spokesperson said. Both companies said the deal will help more than 150,000 merchants. That must be the estimated size of the market, not the number of customers each has. Shopify's precise description of its services is that it "offers a professional online storefront, a payment solution to accept credit cards, a point of sale system to power retail sales and a card reader to process credit card transactions through a mobile phone."
