RANDOM THOUGHTS: MCDONALD'S HAPPY MEALS

McDonald's Happy Meals resist decomposition for six months, according to a woman who left one on her table and maybe this explains another recent story that more people are opting for natural burial. They've concluded Happy Meals work well as well as embalming fluid.

Actually, the durability of McDonald's food has played a role in some cult classics such as "The Night of the Living McNuggets" and "The Bride of Mayor McCheese." Those inspired the even more famous "Nightmare on Sesame Street" in which Elmo terrifies the nation's children by describing what can happen when they dream. …. Somebody asked me if I could imagine the thoughts of the last of 33 Chilean miners, waiting to be rescued as the other 32 walked around above ground. "At last, I've got the place to myself. Some posters and throw pillows, and I finally don't have to fight all those guys for the remote." Some were disappointed in plans for celebrations when they find that the local bar doesn't serve miners. ... With a court throwing out the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy", I started wondering how anyone know when that's not in effect. They stop not asking and not telling? I queried a soldier friend of mine if the policy had been dropped on his base. "I don't know,” he responded. "We didn't ask; they didn't tell." ... For not burning the Quran as threatened, Florida minister Terry Jones has won a car from a local dealership. That has led NBC to formulate a new show "Burn This Book?" in which contestants compete for prizes based on their attempts to set important pieces of world literature on fire. Always nice to see men of high ideals like Jones. What's a price of a man's conscience? Apparently a 2011 Hyundai Accent.
