NetSuite plans to acquire privately held Bronto Software, a cloud-based commerce marketing company for about $200 million in cash and stock. NetSuite signed an agreement with Durham, N.C.-based Bronto in a deal expected to close during the June quarter. The companies said Bronto's marketing automation platform is used by more than 1,400 customers. Founded in 2002 by CEO Joe Colopy, Bronto employs more than 220 people and also has offices in London, England, and Sydney, Australia.
Designed with omni-channel capabilities, Bronto has tools that enable marketers to person all elements of marketing, including email, SMS and social campaigns. There are drag-and-drop tools for the creation of multi-step campaigns, such as cart recovery, ratings and reviews follow-up, post-purchase and welcome series. Its marketing CRM also provides list-building features such website landing pages and pop-up boxes, and text-to-join SMS campaigns.
