Netsmartz has sales offices in Toronto, Ont.; Oslo, Norway; and Singapore, along with two development centers in Indiana. Although the press release was issued this week through the PRweb service, the Netsmartz website shows the company posted a press release about the purchase of Gemko and the ProjectPro application on July 15. The Netsmartz reselling business is operated through its DynamicsSmartz division and handles Dynamics NAV and 366 Business Central. DynamicsSmartz is under the direction of Shawn Sauve, VP of operations and channel sales. Gemko was a model of a pioneering reselling organization that was part of a CPA firm and was founded in 1990 by Jim Metzler, a partner in the then firm, Gaines Metzler Kriner Emhof. Gemko was always an oddity. Under Metzler it was highly visible and once he left to become and became a co-founder of Convergence Coaching in 1999, it seemed uninterested in publicity and was never a prominent player again.
