SAGE AQUIRES BRIGHTPEARL Featured

 Sage has acquired retail software specialist Brightpearl. Sage paid about $299 million for the 83 percent of Brightpearl it did not already own.

The deal is expected to close next month. The purchase was described as helping scale the operations of Sage Intacct. For the year ending December 31, Brightpearl is expected to have revenue of $27 million, an increase of 50 percent over 2020 with a “around the breakeven” operating profit”. Sage had acquired 17 percent of Brightpearl a ago for about $23 million and won a seat on the latter’s board of directors. Brightpearl itself purchased Inventory Planner in September. Based in the United Kingdom and the United States, the company was founded in 2007. The Brightpearl product capabilities include inventory, order and warehouse management, shipping and fulfilment, POS and purchasing and supplier management.
