SOME SHOWS GO REGIONAL Featured

Bigger is not always better and in the post-pandemic era, some companies are turning to regional conference instead of one national event.

Avalara Crush, Infor’s Inforum and Zoho Zoholics are being held regionally in 2023. There is no national conference for any of these. Xero is alternating countries for national conferences, playing in Australia this year, the United Kingdom and the United States next year and Canada in 2025. And Microsoft’s Inspire will remain one of the few major conferences to be help only virtually. Zoho made its decision in the wake of three years of online events. So why the change?  “With a smaller attendance in each, we are able to have more meaningful conversations with our customers and give them the attention they deserve,” says Sandy Lo, Zoho’s global head of corporate communications. Lo says the conferences will have same agenda, speakers and “volume of Zoho product leaders.” Some vendors may have reacted to the challenge of making every year bigger and better. It’s also hard not to remember how in the last year of Dynamics Convergence, the show overinflated because of the need of so many execs to have their own keynote.
