DYNAMICS REVS UP 17 PERCENT Featured

Microsoft reported that Dynamics revenue rose 17-percent year-over-year for the third quarter ended March 31. The company said this week the total was up 21 percent in constant currency.

 Growth came from Dynamics 365, whose revenue rose by 25 percent, 29 percent in constant currency. Microsoft did not reporter actual revenue numbers for the Dynamics business. The report for the nine months showed Dynamics revenue was up 15 percent with Dynamics 365 revenue growth of 23 percent. In this week’s earnings webcast, CFO Amy Hood reported share gains in Azure, Dynamics, Teams, Security, Edge, and Bing. Discussion about future capabilities of Dynamics was limited to Hood’s comments about the utilization of business process automation, including Dynamics workloads. A technology that received a great deal of discussion from CEO Satya Nadella was Teams, which he said had 300 million monthly active users in the quarter. Nadella also reported the new version of Teams was two times faster while using 50 percent less memory. In addition, he said 60 percent of enterprise Teams customers buy Teams Phone, Rooms, or Premium. Nadella also said Teams Rooms revenue more than doubled year-over year.
