JEEVES BUYS SWISS FIRM Featured

Jeff Tognoni, Jeeves Information Systems Sweden's Jeeves Information Systems has acquired privately held ERP SolvAxis, which is headquartered in Switzerland. Terms were not disclosed. Although this does not directly impact the United States, it follows on the heels of Jeeves opening a U.S. office and launching JeevesERP Version 4 in the last month. Jeeves is one of those companies with private equity money behind it, in this case Battery Ventures. which cobbled together Consona, which later merged with CDC Software to produce Aptean.

Jeeves is giving the appearance of a company with some ambition. SolveAxis itself was termed "a frontrunner in the Swiss market", by Jeeves CEO Jeff Tognoni. You have to wonder just how big being the frontrunner in Switzerland makes a company. And Tognoni said SolvAxis "will continue to deliver Swiss-quality software solutions to the Swiss market under the leadership of a Swiss management team." He did note the deal helps SolvAxis and Jeeves expand into new markets and geographies.
