Ask any journalist and you'll probably hear the message that this job of writing on a regular basis is not as simple as it looks. But Kelley came in with a burst of energy and so far this year he has turned out four blog articles since early February on what looks like a promising, regular basis. His most recent, "Apprenticeships, an Education in Action", written shortly after Apprenticeship Week (darn, I forgot to attend the celebration again), focuses on the value of that role and specifically that role within Sage where two former apprentices have been with the company since 1987 and are now managers while the company currently accommodates 24 apprentices. And it's notable that Kelley is not pinning himself down to writing about technology—he's writing about business. As I said, many have tried, many have failed to generate a stream of interesting articles while tending to their management duties and there's nothing wrong with this. Either you have the knack for spewing out a stream of interesting, relevant copy or you don't and I think also need a sense of mission. So far, Kelley is off to a good start, although I will reserve a more complete judgment until he's finished a year of these.
