OPEN DATA DETAILS REVEALED Featured

Adobe, Microsoft and SAP this week provided more information about how they intend to have their applications interoperate through the Open Data Initiative. Details were announced at the Adobe Summit this week by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen.

The publishing effort is described as “a new approach for publishing, enriching and ingesting initial data feeds from Adobe Experience Platform, activated through Adobe Experience Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Office 365 and SAP C/4HANA, into a customer’s data lake.” Announced in September, ODI is designed to enhance interoperability between the three company’s applications and platforms. The three founders also plan a Partner Advisory Council with members including Accenture, Amadeus, Capgemini, Change Healthcare, Cognizant, EY, Finastra, Genesys, Hootsuite, InMobi, Sprinklr and WPP. At the Adobe conference, Unilever discussed its plans for bringing together customer, product and resource data and use artificial intelligence to help reduce their plastic packaging and encourage consumer recycling.
