APPLE’S MOBILITY TRIUMPH Featured

ipadThere's nothing new about the thought that Apple has done well with mobile devices. But sometimes seeing it displayed in day-to-day life is still jarring. For example, during one keynote presentation at Sage Summit there was one MacBook and at least one iPad used during stage demonstrations. Five years ago, it would have been difficult to imagine that the day would come with Apple products would make it into that arena.

A brief count of devices in the front row of the conference hall, occupied by press and analysts, also the extent of Apple's strength in this area. There were six laptops in use (which may be on their way to being as up to date as covered wagons). Four of those were Macs. Then there were the iPads, perhaps four of them with two noticeably being used to take pictures of scenes on stage. It's not completely a Mac world – in the press room the laptops in use by the PR staff and the three workstations provided for the press (rarely used since most have mobile devices) were Dells. But the question of whether corporations are keeping their Dell contracts surely is an open one.
