He explained he thought the restaurant accepted barter and he was waiting for change when police picked him up. "I figured I'd get two lizards and a couple of eggs back," he said. His first explanation that the alligator was a service animal that helped pick up his order also did not sell. And another excuse that it was to help with a possible restaurant theme urging customers to "bite into our food."
