RANDOM THOUGHTS: MY TRIP TO INDIANA

While visiting my mom in Indiana we talked about the usual small town stuff: That the soy bean crop was good; Which relatives were expecting babies; How the guy on the next farm was busted for operating a meth lab.

At the Cincinnati airport, we flew out of the tiniest terminal in the facility. It didn't even have a Rosetta Stone kiosk. And while in Indiana, I may have been the only person in America toggling between the Jets-Colts game and a PBS documentary about the Metropolitan Opera auditions. The Jets could have used some of the fat ladies in the defensive line ... Because of a problem of accelerators that stick, Toyota will be shut down for an unknown time. But it will still sell more cars during that period than General Motors. Actually, it's been determined that the problem was somebody who thought the Toyotathon was a race and he wanted the company's cars to win. ... I think the switch to electronic books may have some unforeseen problems. I borrowed a Kindle from the local library and returned it two months overdue. The fine was $250. ... While reading tabloid headlines as I waited waiting to check out of a supermarket, I envisioned a front-page story from 30 years from now: Jen and Angelina get adjoining rooms in a nursing home and fight over who gets to spoon feed Brad.
