Tatarinov said this was part of the continuing evolution of Convergence and noted that it's not just a Dynamics show anymore. His exact description was the conference is "Growing from being exclusively a Dynamics Event to a Dynamics Event plus". You may remember that the Worldwide Partner Conference once revolved around the MBS channel. CEO Sayta Nadella, who last attended Convergence eight years ago on the same stage with Doug Burgum, concentrated on big data, noting there is 47 Zetabytes in the cloud. At lunch, someone mused whether AR people who came to the show understood any of this. It was high level as Nadella talked about the Azure IoT (Internet of Things) Suite, available in preview later; and Windows 10, which incorporates a lot of IoT tools.
CONVERGENCE: NOT JUST DYNAMICS Featured
We were told this was coming. But it was a little jarring to observe that in his keynote, Kirill Tatarinov, president of Microsoft Business Solutions, did not mention any of the four Dynamics ERP packages by name. Dynamics CRM was cited frequently, but not AX, GP, NAV or SL. And with none of the three award-winning customer companies that came to the stage were the back office products named. It was all about CRM and the cloud.
