Open Systems has announced the availability of Traverse Point of Sale. The system utilizes "a distributed design that does not require a constant connection to the primary server and database,” according to Steve Beckey VP of Traverse development. The company says the system is designed to provide robust reporting and analysis capabilities. Transaction history and real-time database records are stored indefinitely, and are accessible via interactive views for on-the-fly analytics.
Traverse POS offers invoice/receipt printing, tracking of voided transactions, integration with widely used
barcode readers and
electronic cash drawers, password-protected price change, item lookup from anywhere in the point of sale screen and support for multiple pricing levels.
