In a recent blog post, Hans Thalbauer, SVP, Extended Supply Chain and Internet of Things, described the initiative this way: "SAP Leonardo combines adaptive applications, Big Data management, and connectivity in packaged solutions across lines of business and industry use cases, ranging from connected products, assets, and infrastructures to vehicle fleets, markets, and people." The initiative begins with "a jump-start program to help organizations identify and validate IoT pilots and use cases." There is also promotional pricing that includes, fixed cost for software and services to cover the pilot and first year of usage for SAP Leonardo IoT applications. Among these are SAP Connected Goods, SAP Vehicle Insights, SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service and SAP Asset Intelligence Network. SAP IOT labs will open in Palo Alto, Calif.; Paris, France; Shanghai, China, São Leopoldo, Brazil; and Johannesburg, South Africa, along with Berlin and Munich, Germany.
