Aptos, which makes retail technology software, has invested millions of dollars in Aptos Lab, a dedicated development team. The company is developing a cloud-native, mobile-first and unified commerce services platform. "Consumer behavior has fundamentally changed; it is now time for retailers to consume and apply technology in a way that takes into account the new, rapid retailing model," said CEO Noel Goggin.
The company said the focus of platform development includes microservices architecture, mobile-first, rich client applications, extensibility throughout, cloud-native services and integration to current Aptos Singular Commerce solutions. Aptos was formed a year ago when Epicor Software spun off its retail solutions business.
