KASEYA FLESHES OUT EXEC LINE Featured

Michael Pellini, KaseyaTime to catch up with Kaseya, which makes IT management software. Last month, the company hired Maribeth Bearfield as EVP of human resources and Michael Pellini as general council. Pellini’s background is particularly interesting as he was deputy general council for six years at Unica Corp., He helped take that company public before it was then purchased by IBM and he remained there another three years. When I see companies building exec teams and adding someone with experience in the IPO process, it catches my attention.

You may remember that Kaseya was something of a Platinum Software alumni settlement until last year when it was purchased by Insight Venture Partners, which named Yogesh Gupta as CEO in June 2013. The founders left, along with former CEO Gerald Blackie, who joined in 2003 via a merger. Blackie founded Platinum Software, which became Epicor (if I remember right the original company name was American Business Machines.)  Since then, Kaseya acquired Zyrion (named Kaseya Traverse) for cloud and network monitoring, Rover Apps (now called Kaseya BYOD) for Bring Your Own Device management, and 365 Command for Office 365 management and administration. In the fall, Kaseya also hired Mark Combs as COO and Don LeClair as EVP of product management. Both came from CA Technologies.
