Unit4 was purchased and taken private at the end of 2013 by Advent Partners and these moves demonstrate what private equity backing can do. Kamieneski's previous job was as SVP of North America sales for Virtustream in 2014 and 2015. Before that he was area VP for enterprise sales from Salesforce.com in 2012 and 2013; VP of enterprise sales for Oracle from 2008 through 2012; and VP of global account sales for SAP America from 1994 through 2000. Under Advent, the company also doubled R&D spending for Business World, got a cloud product out the door and hired four new VPs as the company changed its structure.

Unit4, which markets the newly rebranded Coda and Agresso lines, has named Scott Kamieneski as managing director for North America. The Netherlands-based company said the hiring is part of its plan to expand in North America. Last week, the company renamed Coda as Unit4 Financials and Agresso as Unit4 Business World and based new features on a newly announced Unit4 People Platform. And that follows a February announcement that it is considering a move from direct sales only on this continent to also utilizing a channel.
