North American revenue of roughly $17.2 million represented an increase of 14.8 percent over the prior year. Total revenue for the Denmark-based reseller and software developer increased to about $45.4 million. The overall tale was that of the software industry generally with subscriptions rising and licenses decreasing. Subscriptions to Columbus products hit about $1.9 million for the most recently ended quarter, an increase of 23.4 percent. External subscriptions (which would include Microsoft products) increased 2.1 percent to roughly $6.3 million. License revenue from the sale of Columbus software dropped to about $935,000, off 19.9 percent. External license revenue fell 6.8 percent to approximately $2.5 million. The management report from chair Ib Kunøe and CEO Thomas Honoré noted the sale of ColumbusCare contracts rose by 62 percent which was termed "a satisfactory development." Columbus turned in 12.7-percent revenue growth for the first quarter ended March 31. And its North American revenue was up by 14.8 percent despite the fact chargeable hours for its SMB business in United States declined to 55 percent from 58 percent in last year's corresponding period.
