IFS is an enterprise software company based in Sweden with offices in the United States. Laing held the managing director’s role for the same countries for Sage from June 2017 through June this year. Before that, he was EVP of global strategic partnerships and alliances from January 2015 through June 2017. It is the second notable hire by IFS in the two months. In September, the software company hired Christian Pederson as chief product officer. He held the same title with SAP from January 2017 through August this year and was GM for enterprise ERP in the Dynamics business for Microsoft from April 2011 through October 2016.

Alan Laing, who held key roles with Sage, has become managing director for the United Kingdom and Ireland for IFS. The job is a new position which reflects the importance IFS places in the region, Laing said in a prepared statement.
