Retail Pro has launched what the company calls phase 1 of project "Aruba" at the National Retailer Federation expo. Aruba, described as utilizing a thin-client architecture, is scheduled to have its first release this year, although no month, quarter or season was specified.
Like most companies, Retail Pro sees an immediate future of on-premise and SaaS-based applications co-existing. Retail Pro itself is a next-generation company as the earlier company with that name sold its assets in June while in bankruptcy. The purchaser, Retail Pro International, was organized by the secured lenders.
