And BMI has also taken over the Columbus operation in Detroit, Mich., which employs about 23 people. The whole picture suggests Columbus wants to be in this country but has given up on trying to establish recognition of its own name. We are likely to see more big players picked up, particularly as Australia-based UXC has said it plans to buy more VARs in this country to build its Dynamics business under its UXC Eclipse subsidiary. BMI carries all four Dynamics financial software packages and Dynamics CRM, along with Open Systems Accounting Software and that company's Traverse line. It also offers the Intacct cloud accounting line.
COLUMBUS ACQUIRES INTERDYN BMI Featured
Danish reselling and consulting firm Columbus has said it needed to work on its reseller business in the United States. And it has with the acquisition this week of Minneapolis, Minn.-based InterDyn BMI for $11.8 million. BMI is headed by CEO John Hendrickson. On the Columbus side, last fall it reported its U.S. revenues were off double digits. So we can presume buying BMI is part of the response. BMI has 23 offices and 125 employees, revenue of about $25 million and earnings of about $660,000. BMI president Bryan Wilton says his company will maintain its name with a tagline "A Columbus Company".
