Morgan was appointed in May 2017 to SAP Executive Board with oversight of Global Customer Operations. Although the press release announcing Paoni's promotion was dated February 18, his LinkedIn profile shows he moved into the job in July. I guess he survived a probationary period. Paoni has been with the software company since August 1996. Among his recent positions was his stint as GM of SVP North America strategic customers from January 2013 through April 2015. He was managing director and SVP for the Midwest from April 2015 through July 2017.
