There have been some suggestions that a position with ByD is not one of the better spots right now for job security. It certainly has been quiet since SAP repositioned ByD upstream and pointed the cloud version of Business One below it. There is not a lot of information on Treaster in one spot on the web, including the length he spent in various positions, and he's that dreaded third-level connection on LinkedIn, so I don't have access to his full profile. He served as VP of global alliances for the former Mapics and moved to Infor when it purchased Mapics in 2005. I was led to believe that the ByD channel has suffered sharp attrition and it sounds like even some nominally still in the program are marking time while waiting to see what SAP is going to do with the product.

Kim Treaster, who led the North American channel for Business ByDesign, has left SAP. The company has not yet commented on a request about Treaster's status, but his email address at SAP is no longer active and a source says Treaster left SAP four to six weeks ago. What was the comment in the other item in this newsletter about channel programs stalling? The most recent title Treaster held was director of North American channels for Business byDesign.
