SWK TO BUY FED VAR VICOR

Jeff Roth, SWK TechnologiesSWK Technologies of Livingston, N.J., has signed a letter of Intent to buy Vicor Business Services. Based in Bethesda, Md., Vicor is a Sage and Infor reselling and consulting firm involved in compliance-oriented federal contracting with U.S. government agencies. Terms were not mentioned in the press release issued by SWK's parent, SilverSun Technologies. However, it said Vicor has $1.2 million in annual revenue.

SWK has made several channel acquisitions but going into the federal business is a new direction. The SilverSun release says that Vicor has "expertise in project management and time-based systems supporting FAR and CAS compliance for commercial firms and OMB Circular compliance for grants management will add a significant expertise to SWK's capabilities. VICOR's staff has assisted clients in passing Federal Contracting audits with DCAA and other audit agencies, helping them to obtain approval to perform on Federal Contracts." Vicor, founded in 1989, handles Sage, Infor's SunSystems and Dynamcom products. Vicor is a typical VAR - no names of anyone employed there on the web site and the usual wordage that is essentially "We have good people." SWK CEO Jeff Roth said the moves helps with his company's goals of expanding into the nation's capital and expanding its line of proprietary products and services, along with adding experts with experience in the federal market. Vicor's own products include CIP Online Bill Payments, the CIP Donor Edition, ScanTrap Bubble Forms (electronic data collection forms) and Scan MAS, which is barcode scanning for Sage 100
