Means was an avid cycler and always had a great deal of energy, according to his friends. "He was a great guy. He was fun to be around," says David Dierke, CEO of AccountMate, who worked with Dan in the SBT days. Dierke also says he had never heard of one of Means' customers that was unhappy with service or products Means sold. A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, at his home in Mission Viejo, Calif. Since 1999, he had been cycling for Team Basso to raise money to fight multiple sclerosis. His LinkedIn page says the team has raised more than $500,000 in that time. The Means family requests that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society on Dan's behalf.
