They pointed to an example of a worker who spent time in seven different counties and was subject to seven different payroll taxes. One noted his home county has two different taxes and it's easy to find a list of county and city occupational taxes online and databases that provide the rate. What does not seem to exist is the kind of online service we have seen from Avalara that can track and calculate multitudinous rates. I assume the company would not comment on this if I asked. But I also assume that the folks in Bainbridge Island, Wash., are aware of the opportunity in this area.
