NetSuite was the Top Development & Solution Partner for ERP and Magento was named Top Development & Solution Partner for eCommerce. In last week's newsletter, we talked about the global battle in the indirect tax market with the formation of Sovos Compliance putting a competitor against Avalara, which has vowed to ramp up its VAT activities. The Big Four and Top 50 or so accounting firms would seem logical candidates for doing well in this arena. I don't think we are going to see the top spots for either resellers, accounting and consulting firms, go to smaller organizations.
AVALARA AWARDS FAVOR SIZE
Avalara's awards for its 2014 Top Performing Partners show that size has a lot to do with performance. The Top Accounting & Consulting Partner of the sales-and-use tax software company was McGladrey and the Top Marketing and Sales Partner was Tribridge. In last year's Top 100 VARs section, McGladrey was No. 1, taking over the top spot with the disappearance of Tectura from the market, and Tribridge was No. 2, and it seems unlikely that those positions will change for the 2015 selection.
