A blog from Microsoft's Indian operations said, "Organizations in the country will benefit from data sovereignty, lower latency and geo redundancy with the availability of local infrastructure." I assume data sovereignty is an issue in more than one of these areas. In his blog, Bob Stutz, VP of Dynamics CRM said, "The local service will help customers address data residency considerations, which is particularly important in sectors such as healthcare, education, government and financial services." For all the hype about the importance of these moves, the press releases about them were short on data about the size of the centers, numbers employed or being added and the extent of the physical expansion and concentrated how important these moves are for the areas concerned.
