According to Venture Beat, Facebook has committed $7.5 million dollars to the creation of the Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence. Among other things the institute will study human rights.

According to CFO, as companies add artificial intelligence to their systems it is important that the companies make sure four conditions are met to ensure that they have “trust” in their AI. One condition is ethics, that is making sure the AI is inline with accepted ethical and moral standards.

As Australia’s police force adds artificial intelligence to its various functions such as administration, forensics and risk identification new regulations are needed, reports the Financial Review.
