“We have enough modules out now that people can pound on the product and do things,” CEO David Dierke said this week. Core modules have shipped and the software company has also introduced a connection to its payroll system. “We wrote an interface to our payroll which is bullet proof,” Dierke said. AccountMate offers a payroll system that was written about eight years ago to serve multiple product lines instead of offering a different payroll package for each module. Currently, the company is finishing its manufacturing modules, which it calls Manufacturing Inventory. “They are coding it right now,” Dierke saidThe new version is accompanied by an Express version that is designed for small businesses. It lacks the SQL Server license and is designed for up to five concurrent users. Both are source-code modifiable. Both applications come with a user-definable password policy and fraud protection features recommended by banks and accountants for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, along with multiple security levels. There is a multi-segmented chart of accounts, up-to-the-minute bank balances and instant view of unreconciled transactions, and streamlined bank reconciliation. The new version provides an authorized reference accounts feature for vendor invoices, support for simultaneous payment authorization for multiple outstanding AP invoices and prepayments, expense deferral, a multi-currency feature and consolidation of companies with different reporting currencies.
