ACUMATICA EMPHASIZES INTEGRATIONS Featured

Jani AliAcumatica touted integration of third-party applications and cross-product workflow as it introduced the Acumatica 2019 R2 release this week. That included Data Self, which links Tableau functionality.

“All these ship with the system,” Doug Johnson, VP of product management, said at an analyst event in Waltham, Mass. He noted that DataSelf defines roles, which are included in the system, as are scenarios. Also built in is the Ship Engine which provides access to carrier services. Ali Jani, VP of partner strategy and product management, noted the Data Self integration means Tableau functionality is far more affordable for users. ”With DataSelf, it’s not thousands or tens of thousands of dollars,” he said. Overall the embedded integrations “differentiate Acumatica,” from vendors whose products require buying a third-party connection to obtain desired functionality, he continued. The connectivity within Acumatica means more functions are available from a screen instead of requiring users to navigate elsewhere. That includes SMS support through Twilio and Amazon. Users can create business event triggers which can result in an SMS text message sent to a sale rep for example when a customer with an overdue AR balance is trying to place another order.
