INTACCT CONSTRUCTION LAUNCHED Featured

Sage Intacct has introduced a construction edition. Sage Intacct Construction is billed as carrying forward the functionality of Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (Timberline) into the cloud.

”It  an industry that is relatively new to cloud adoption,” Stuart Langer, director of product management, financial applications, said this week.  “We are now seeing a generational shift” as new generations take over construction businesses. The product initially targets “general contractors with limited self-performing capabilities as well as production home builders,” Langer said. Expansion to other markets depends partly on third parties. For example, Langer said the Intacct payroll partners do not yet have fully construction complaint applications. By year’s end, Intacct will have introduced “ big things around retainage and change management latter part of year,” Langer said. He also expects “by then we will have Sage Estimating fully integrated.” With those features, Sage will be looking at broader kinds of general contractors and specific subcontractors. Resellers must be authorized for the product with the company probably moving towards a separate certification for construction. “Not every construction and real estate partner or even Intacct partner is authorized,” Langer said. Construction a very active software market as Acumatica, which introduced its Construction Edition in 2018, signed up almost all major Timberline resellers quickly. With its new product, Intacct touted its multi-entity consolidation, something its existing product is known for, along with dimensional reporting.
