It has been 22 years since the company changed its name from Platinum Software to Epicor after it was sued by Platinum Technology. There seem to be an ample number of Kinetics out there, but not in the same field. Epicor said it had a controlled release of the manufacturing software with more than 100 customers. Kinetic has a browser-based user interface and an Application Studio tool to perform low-no code customization. The software is also “designed to meet the needs of medical device manufacturers for software validation under FDA regulations,” the company said, adding it is “achieving” Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification for Aerospace and Defense manufacturers. Among other features, ECM 21.1. has a new security feature for document workflow approvals and new custom revision numbering feature for Medical Device and A&D manufacturers while the EDI elements has “New purpose-built API end points for real-time connectivity and error messages that support over ten standard demand-side and supply side documents.” Also, the spreadsheets server utilizes Microsoft Excel for reporting.
