EX-SAGE EXEC SPRING GETS JOB Featured

Rich Spring, Seal SoftwareRich Spring, who bolted from Sage  in January, has taken a job as SVP of field operations for Seal Software. Spring left the position EVP and chief revenue officer after impressing the Sage channel and serving 10 months in that position. Based in San Francisco, Calif., Seal makes contract discovery, extraction and analytics applications that are sold into the Fortune 500.

It recently released V4.1 of its Contract Discovery and Analytics, which it says has new Machine Learning framework and data visualization capability—so this is heavy-duty stuff. Seal's website lists the roles of its target customers as procurement professional, general counsel, head of M&A, contracts manager, head of sales and IT professional. A number of high-profile refugees from the Sage executive ranks have new positions. The exceptions include Brad Smith, who was EVP of global customer experience, and Joe Langner, who served as EVP of mid-market solutions—unless they simply have not updated their LinkedIn pages. With Marc Scheipe now in charge as president of Sage North America since last month, we'll have to wait to see how his view will impact the jobs in the executive ranks. I continue to believe that the unusually large number of job changes that have occurred in management layers around the world have not gone as deep in this country.
